Hi! I’m Tracy 🙂
And this all started with a parking ticket (well… actually, a lot of them).
My boyfriend lives in Somerville, MA, where street cleaning is practically a local sport. We get so many tickets from street cleaning, so we totally understand that sinking feeling when you realize you forgot again. Every week, we’d walk around the neighborhood and see rows of cars with those bright orange envelopes. It wasn’t just us, so many people were getting the tickets.
I decided to outsmart the system and set up reminders using Apple and Google Calendar, but quickly learned the problem:
street cleaning doesn’t happen every 14 days. It’s “every 1st and 3rd Tuesday,” “2nd and 4th Wednesday,” and those dates jump around every month. Even Apple Shortcuts and automation scripts couldn’t keep up. I spent hours trying to make it work, and still ended up getting tickets.
Since my background is in computer science and digital marketing, and I’ve been diving deep into AI automation, I decided to build something better — a reminder system that actually understands the real street cleaning schedule. It tracks the correct days and delivers timely reminders, either through calendar alerts or text messages, so you can move your car before it’s too late.
We created Don’t Sweep Me to share this solution with our neighbors — turning all those frustrating ticket moments into something positive and meaningful.
If we can help even a few people avoid that “orange envelope morning,” it’s worth it.
